Blog Post: New Hall of Fame!
(December 21, 2011) I truly enjoy reading about new Halls of Fame, which do seem to be the rabbits of organizations, proliferating wildly! The one that caught my eye this week is the Winemakers International Hall of Fame (WIHOF). Oh, boy, what an induction ceremony for the inaugural class of winemakers – a seven course black tie dinner at the Hotel DuPont Gold Ballroom in Wilmington, DE. At $250 per person it is a reasonable cost for this clientele.
But, this event leads me to a broader question - Who is your audience? And what’s their ability to foot the bill for the physical manifestation of the Hall of Fame, whether it is a building, a part of another organization, virtual, or an annual event? Questions we are challenged to answer almost every day.
I believe all organizations should keep coming back to that root question – Who is your audience? Can you define them accurately? Can you engage them? Energize them? Get that audience to your destination? Find these answers to create an opportunity for success.
On this Winter Solstice Day I wish all a wonderful, happy holiday season and a joyous New Year full of opportunities and success!
